10% IS UNACCEPTABLE The 10% fatality rate in eating disorders is unacceptable. In this briefing speakers will provide data and testimonials on the heart-wrenching death rate associated with eating disorders and call on Congress and the general public to throw off the stigma and pass legislation to save lives. (Families Empowered and Supporting Treatment for Eating Disorders) Declaring an end to hiding and the beginning of parents standing up and taking their place to call for better statistics gathering, research funding, professional credentialing, and evidence-based treatment dissemination.
